CFOIB 6 Week Paleo Challenge

Ok, it’s time! It’s been over a month since our nutrition class and many of you have started making some serious improvements to your eating habits. And some of you have not!  We have had two monthly challenges based on WOD performance only (Fight Gone Bad in January & Fran in February). Now it is time to “up the anty” and get serious about the essential element of elite fitness (and not to mention and healthy, long, and disease free life). Yes, I’m talking about the Paleo way of eating. You have heard me say it “Eat meat, vegetables, some fruit, little starch, & no sugar”. I’m not joking around!  Many of you have asked me why I drink coconut milk in my coffee or why don’t I eat peanut butter, etc, etc (and believe me when I say there is a lot more to Paleo eating than just no dairy or peanut butter)…Watch the video clip below to get you a bit more familiar with the Paleo Diet. I will have more details posted soon!

Bryan E's Gravatar I know I don’t have to tell you this but the paleo challenge will me monumental for your members. I have been doing 90% paleo for about 2-3 months and lost almost 20lbs. I can’t speak on any performance gains because of my hectic work schedule and new baby, my gym time has been minimal. I think your members will like the freedom of paleo versus the stress of Zone blocks. I supplement with tons of fish oil, vitamin D, and magnesium. Not that I’m a picture of health but I have followed the diet and achieved amazing results. The hardest thing for me to drop was sugar! I really don’t have cravings for carbs such as bread but I do miss Reese cups like a junkie would crack. My energy levels have sky rocketed and I can only believe my performance levels will benefit from my new "caveman diet". Make it past the first two weeks and your body and mind will thank you for freeing them from the junk we consider food in the western diet. Good luck to all!

Dargan's Gravatar I'm in. Pause...I went zone/paleo for three weeks in feburary I dropped mad weight/BF seemingly overnight but and I drove my girlfriend nuts that I was measuring food all the time and not eating junk or drinking alcohol. She said I was not very fun to hang out with (at restaraunts and bars, not in general)... More specifically, Is this a paleo challenge, or a zone/paleo challenge? Its gonna be stressful on my life to swing both. Coach K?

Coach's Gravatar **Update**

Our last supper will be held at Duffer's in Shallotte on Wed, March 17th @ 6pm. Join us for one last meal full of non-paleo food & drink. The challenge will begin the following morning!

And to answer Dargan's question: No, we will not be doing Zone/Paleo. Of course you can still follow the zone parameters-- I would actually advise that-- but you will not be required to do so. We will talk more about this in our meeting next Monday.

warcraft gold's Gravatar Warlocks can be a difficult class to play, but if you can do it well you will be the envy of all other damage dealers. Most people will despise you in Player vs Player battles.
